The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) was founded in the month of November 3, 1989 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India. It is also formerly known as a National Open School. The headquarter of the NIOS is located in the city of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is a good Board of Education for Distance education. The NIOS offers the various courses such as OBE 'A' Level Course—Equivalent to class III, OBE 'B' Level Course—Equivalent to class V, OBE 'C' Level Course—Equivalent to class VIII, Secondary Course—Equivalent to class X, Senior Secondary Course—Equivalent to class XII, Vocational Education Courses and Life Enrichment Programmes. The NIOS also conducts the 10th class or 12th class examination. Mostly the NIOS conducts the written examination twice a year in the months of April–May and October–November. This year also the 12th class examination will be held in the month of April–May, so the NIOS will soon announce the NIOS 12th Class Date Sheet 2014 on its official website at www.nios.ac.in.
